<><><><><><><> <><><><><><><> Ryan, I don't have a Gen II KLR but I been hearing more and more reports of wiring rub through issues on later than 2008 bikes. Usually it's a brown wire near a bracket around the steering head area that causes shut down or erratic running. The carb vent hose I'm told is now stuck under the seat but the tee mod is still needed. I suggest you consider a Thermo-Bob which was developed by Bill Watson (aka Wattman) and first discussed on this list. Luckily for you he lives in Phoenix so you could easily discuss this with him directly. Some guys do a valve check and when around the top of the head some how the AIS (pollution control crap) falls off the bike. I've heard there is a guy selling an inexpensive plate to block the hole in the head. Might check at the same time as you order an EagleMike doohickey and torsion spring. I'm sure others will also chime in with their suggestions.
