Hey All (just an FYI) I went in for a new starter Bendix gear, for the Riding mower, I just picked up yesterday, While there I asked the Tech. 30 or 40 wieght? He said NEVER 40, it has polymers (Plastic's) that will melt or burn under high temp's lie small engines create. Maybe I missed it in old threads, or do to the kind of oil we use in bikes it never came up. So just an FYI [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Well, Briggs' manual specs Xw-30, so I would go with that. As far as "plastics", I would be willing to bet he may be a little misinformed. I spend a lot of time over on bobistheoilguy.com, and I've never seen any article that says that. -Jeff Khoury
