helmet suggestions?

Post by Stephen H. Reichman, Sr. » Thu Oct 18, 2012 10:03 pm

I hope this is not a duplicate post on my part but here goes: For eddiebmauri: I have a Reevu MSX1 full-face helmet. I have found it to be not only useful but a quieter helmet than my previous SHOEI RF1000 or my HJC CL16. It cuts road noise pretty well, great wind protection, plus you have the added rear-view system that works well adding to your ability to scan things behind you (excellent field of vision). Rear view system works well day or night, no electronics, no glass, just costumed/quality reflective services engineered to provide a rear view. Adjustable optics. Ventilation is not too bad. I don't have trouble with fogging because ventilation allows for clear shields and mirror. I added a Scala Rider Bluetooth headset and when I need some quiet to chat with my wife on the commute, closing the shield makes a nice quiet bubble to talk in. My riding is primarily highway, about 12k annually all seasons (except for snow and ice). I've been down to 9 degrees (-21 with windchill) and over 103 degrees in the summer (A bit warm in the summer but I'm OK with it.). The winter is it fine plus I typically wear a Schampa balaclava to help insulate. The cost is about comparable to a SHOEI , a little cheaper than an ARAI; to me too many benefits to pass up. You can get them from Revzilla or altimategear.com ( both charge $399.99). DOT and ECE compliant and AMA approved. They are used on the racing circuits as well as other riding venues. I been using it over a year now and will not go back to a conventional helmet. Respects, Steve 2008 KLR650 - 50k+ miles and counting.. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
