Slime is advertising heavily on the radio as being responsible for preventing flats during the Baja 1000 races. I know this is marketing, and possibly hype, but has anybody used this on/in their KLR tires/tubes? Dave

Dave I use it in both my KLR's....With A Heavy Duty tube and about 7 oz. of ATV Slime I can ride about anywhere I want ....I live In New Mexico where you can't ride anywhere without running into a Mesquite or Lechugilla ....I've been running this combo for the last 4 years and haven't had a single flat....KNOCK ON WOOD !!!! Mike & Tam Thanks much for sharing your experience. Mike, do you know the SKU of the Slime you're using? There are a bunch of variants listed; 10003, 10004, 10009, etc. These may all be the same thing except for bottle size, but I want to get the right goop! Dave

Any reason why Slime can not be used if one has nitrogen in the ties instead of ambient air?

Ride On is a better solution, I think. http://www.ride-on.com/ No affiliation, I just prefer it. Had a hard time repairing a tire with a Slimed tube, patches just won't stick...

So, you use this and if you don't get any oil on the tube your seal has seated, or you have no fluid left... How can you tell which? Both of my forks were a tiny bit leaky, and I worried I'd have to rebuild them this winter. I found a tool by motion pro called Seal Mate. It was affordable at around $7, but with shipping, and the simplicity of the design, I figured there was a better way. I watched the video on how it worked, then decided that there was no reason I couldn't make the same thing out of a 2 liter pop bottle. Your thinking of Helium !!!! The reason that Racers use Nitrogen in their tires is that it keeps the tire cooler at high speeds and doesn't leak down as fast....I was airing up my tires with nitrogen when I ran My El Camino in the Big Bend Open Road Race In Ft.
