Last yr. I had just finished a 2300 mile run, and the next day stopped in at BMW 2smiles from hm.)
I was inside talking to the service mng. when someone came in and said, In for new tires?
I said, No?
He asked REALY? with a rear like that?
I had just looked at them an hour earlyer when washing the bike, and even rolled it a bit to get a hidden part of the rims, had a good 3/16 -1/4 inch left.
I went back out, looked down.................WOW THREADS SHOWING THREW.
One spot was a worn threw about the size of a silver Dollar. (thats a steel coin to you youngins)
Walked back in YEP I'm Here NOW!!!!! for a new rear tire.
I have a habit of looking down at ALL My tires and many others when I walk past a Vehical, yet never seen the thinner spot.
Now, I rotate INSPECT, On a stand Or have someone roll the bike as I watch.
I'm Cheap But Agree, I change at about 90%.
SAFTY QUALITY SPEED, IN THAT ORDER
(My moto, when doing service,20+yrs. Or when I was a Machinest 10yrs..)
