Quick and easy (read cheap) lessons:
1. always carry extra valve cores. while airing up in the driveway and
taking the air chuck off the tire air just kept flowing out. poked the
core numerous times. finally took it out and the little seal had 'blown
apart' when putting air in. had i been in the middle of no where with no
spare core i would have been hooped...
2. when you have not been riding your bike for a while, maybe it's
senior itis setting in, and you've killed your bike in gear, and you go
to re-start your ride but the neutral light does NOT come on and the
start button does nothing... don't panic like i did and assume the
battery is dead and get a fellow employee to give me a ride to get my
other bike's battery and swap it out and it did the same thing... what?
oh crap... put the bike back in neutral, hit the start button and go.
man did i feel dumber than --- well you fill in the blank. glad i hadn't
taken the bike to the shop for them to fix that one
