Heres one to ponder.
Friday, I went out to the garrage to sell a 07 KLX250 (only 75miles, 16 when I got it.)
Turned on the key, (choke) lights came on, it cranked well, NO START, kept cranking untill we needed to recharge. (retry 7-8 times)
Cleaned the wet (gas) plug ect., no good.
Then one time the guy reached over turned on the key hit the botton and...VROOM!
(ok it's a klx250, so no vroom just brrrrrrrrr. LOL)
I looked at him and asked WHAT did you do?
He said, I did NOT HEAR A "CLICK" when I turned the key on.
(He then had to go to work 2nd shift, not sold yet.)
Had the problem 4times, before, after cleaning out the carb, after sitting so many yr's. I thought it was the carb and RE RE RE Cleaned.)
Restarted several times since.
Key on, LIGHTS ON, STARTER SPINS, did not start, untill he played with the key.
(MY 1st thought, was dirty contact at the key switch, but its just to a relay, & lights were BRIGHT.)
Tryed yesterday VR.....brrrrrrrrrr QUICK START UP.
Ponder it NOW.....

not klr....klx250 elect.
IMMEDIATLY,
bring it to sturgis, SD and unload it on an unsuspecting rev.
Send a pm for the exact unsuspecting address; it varies.
right (unsuspecting) revmaaatin. who is about to go change the gas in his KLR.
ps. I suspect the wheel postion may be affecting the tension on the wiring harness.
q. 1 Does it 'no-start' reguardless of the handle bar position?
If you deceide to remove the key lock cylinder, (I seem to recall) you have to breakk or grind off two anti-tamper screws on the bottom of the lock. McGiver-Mark, Something I am sure you have never, ever done before....
