<><><><><> <><><><><> Mech, Hope you don't have a broken toe. Best with that. A friend in LA as in Louisiana told me something he did to help with cold starts on cold days. I kind of recall this was on an airhead BMW but he also now owns a KLR. He drilled a hole in the side of the air box and installed a tire valve stem with no core. He normally has just a valve cap on it. When he's gonna use it for a cold start he takes off the cap, gives a quick shot of starter fluid into the air box through the valve stem. Quickly reinstalls the valve cap and then cranks the bike. Says it works a charm. Just something to think about while you chill. : ) Best, Jeff Saline ABC # 4412 South Dakota Airmarshal Airheads Beemer Club www.airheads.org The Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota 75 R90/6, 03 KLR650 . . ____________________________________________________________ 53 Year Old Mom Looks 33 The Stunning Results of Her Wrinkle Trick Has Botox Doctors Worried http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL3141/4f69fe686ca902750d56st01vuc> My custom choke has been broken. > So I pinch hold of the idle speed screw and turn three times... so > maybe maybe one full revolution. > This is my choke and high idle > putting it between 1500 and 1800 or so. > Has worked well although first start of the day can be a bit much > for the battery and starter for optimal life. > This morning, and the reason I have the time to type this now, bike > won't start. > Just a wee bit too cold without a choke. > Ran the battery down juuust before it was going to light. > Grabbed the battery I jumped it with yesterday... > took it down to nuthin' too. > Set 'em both to charge. > Bolted on the kick starter, which I knew wasn't going to do it cold > with no choke and no compression.
