There's a big difference in battery life from the Spot 1 and the Spot 2. My Spot 1 seems to go forever on a set of batteries. You may not be able to hit the SOS button when passed-out, but for a few more dollars a YEAR, you can have TRACKING, and if someone back home checks on google maps and see's that you have not moved in a while, THEY CAN COME, OR CALL FOR HELP. I hit the OK button when plan to I stop more then 10 minutes to check things out. Plus they can see it still moving in an area, or zoom in on satilite on the map to see where I'm AT. A store, tourest/rest area, waterfalls etc., and see ......OH He's at walmart buying more OIL. But....group rides I have been on, someone starts pissing on the tree and starts going fast, usually faster than I want to go the older I get. I was out there though during that time and was in Terlingua drinking beer on the front porch at the store. One of them crashed and died after hitting a car I heard. But last fall, a friend riding alone southwest of Austin Texas hit a deer (or really, the deer hit him). He was unconscious until being loaded on the care flight. I don't mind being Ricky the Racer on dirt bikes but get really uncomfortable doing the same on street bikes. Criswell

exhaust camshaft

I 've been installing the 685 kit into my 06 KLR this weekend and when I pulled the valve shims I noticed that one of the exhaust shims had some discoloring and abnormal wear... I looked at the cam and it is beginning to round off the lobe....Does anyone have a good used exhaust cam they might want to part with cheap.... Everything is back together right up to the head but I'm afraid if I try and use that cam I'm looking at a massive failure in the near future.
