Is it a gas tank vent tube? LOL! What bugs me about Ebay is all the "HID" light bulbs, which are not actually HID. They are incandescent bulbs, but the sellers are trying to fool people into thinking they are HID's. If they say no ballast required, then they are not HID. Lies, outright lies... ________________________________ From: Jeffrey To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 11:59 AM Subject: [DSN_KLR650] FUEL PRESS REGULATOR KLR650 ????????????????????????? 09 Kawasaki KLR650 KLR 650 FUEL PRESS REGULATOR Item condition: Used US $19.95 Buy It NowBuy It Now BillMeLater 6 months to pay on purchases of $99+See terms Shipping: $8.33 - Standard Shipping | See all shipping details Item location: Massillon, Ohio, United States Add to Watch list Seller information Member id pinwall_cycle_parts ( Feedback Score Of 123625Red shooting Visit store: Ebay StoresPinWall Cycle Parts Inc [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I don t think it is a KLR part, but kind of looks like a Separator . This is used to take the solids out of your engine vent line and return them to intake to be burned. https://www.kawasakiepc.com/SSIConverted/3038927_120124_014900_1757.png\ Maybe it s the new 2112 Doohickey. de tour 2006 ** day ten**

----- Forwarded Message ----- Listers, Chino Valley, AZ Steve is up with the crack of dawn, again! Today is mechanic day. We're gonna be mechanics until all the parts Steve wants swapped from the blue bike to the red bike are swapped. We goof around a bit getting the bikes where we want them so the transfer can go as smoothly as it'll go. Body parts come off both bikes and we begin swapping stuff. Easy stuff is first like the rear master cylinder guard, tee mod and the fuse holders and then the more complicated stuff starts moving. Steve really likes his chrome bars which are a bit higher than stock so we decide to swap them. That goes pretty well but there are always little issues like the tit on the back of the light switch that needs to be filed off. We go into breakfast and Steve calls a local guy who is a member of the Airheads Beemer Club. John got his card when they were talking about BMWs one time. Sam is a self employed appliance repair guy and has an opened day. He comes over around 10 am and we all hit it off right away. He's never worked on a KLR before but is still pretty darn handy. He stays for lunch but needs to get home to do some yard work. But we can keep using his help so he stays longer. We finally get to the chain, sprockets rear tire and rear suspension linkages. Steve takes a long handled screwdriver and hammer and knocks the JB Kwik from around the blue bike countershaft sprocket nut. It was holding well and I think it was a fine repair. I loosen the sprocket nuts and Steve then loosens the rear wheels and chain adjusters. We try to remove the countershaft sprocket from the new bike and it won't come off. Then we try to pry it off and it won't move. Finally, Sam gets a small puller from his truck and Steve and Sam work on it for a few minutes and it finally slides off. I install it on the blue bike and it slides on and off without a problem. After this issue gets fixed the swap goes pretty well. We use marine waterproof grease to lube the swingarm bolt cavity and also all the bearings for the rear suspension. The blue bike doesn't need to have the suspension lubed as Steve checked it last spring and it was fine. We had to pull the swingarms since the stock chain doesn't have a master link and is going to be used on the blue bike. This way we also don't have to break the longer 108 tooth chain with a master link with the clip RTVd in place. The tire swap goes well and the bead is lubed well enough that it slips right off and then back on. The rear tire has now been apart four times since it first got mounted. Instead of using the small air compressors Steve and I carry for trail use we use the 20 gallon 5 horse air compressor in the barn to fill the tires. It's noisy but works well. We decide to remove and remount the sprocket instead of just swapping the sprocket carrier. The old carrier has 43,000 plus miles on it and the new one only has 1,500 plus a few miles. It just doesn't make sense to mix the new and old bearings together. The 45 tooth rear sprocket is swapped and we use Sam's torque wrench to tighten the nuts. Steve works on chain adjustment and wheel alignment on the new bike. While he's doing that I start to install the dash on the new bike. The wires are run and we have to swap the Dual Star type radiator protection bar. I'm taking the old one off and Steve mentions swapping the long bolts to the other bike. I misunderstand him and we have a bit of miscommunication about this. I think he's talking about the long bolts used for the lower front motor mount. And what he's talking about are the two small bolts used to hold the top of the protection bar to the frame. Things finally get sorted out but it's an uncomfortable feeling being out of synch. We finally figure out it's a communication issue and get that sorted. The dash and wiring gets installed and Sam pulls a wire connector box from his truck. Then he does the wire splicing and the dash is operational. The rear turn signals have extensions on them on the old bike. Steve made them the day before we started the trip. They move the rear signals about 6" to the rear and inwards about 1" on each side. The extensions work very well with the Ortlieb Dry Saddlebags we both use. Absolutely no pressure gets put on the turn signals when using the extensions. Sam and I work for a bit to get the wiring right on these and then Steve reminds us he has a Dual Star brake light that needs to be moved too. That only takes a minute and I swap the lens too. You have to file about 1/16" off the lens mount standoffs when installing the Dual Star LED brake light. No point in filing on a new lens when a swap with the old lens will work fine. We get the blue bike together and I take it around the house to see if it runs ok. It seems fine to me but I can sure tell a difference with the stock gearing compared to what Steve and I are using. The blue bike is going to be stored in the back of the barn to wait until Steve returns in early July. He'll then have a bike to ride for a week or two before heading home. Steve continues to work on the new bike for a while and finally it's done. Sam decides it's time for him to really leave and we take time for a quick picture of the three of us. Finally, at 6:30 in the evening Sam heads off and Steve is ready to sort small issues on his new bike. And now we're ready to continue, De Tour. We have a fine dinner and enjoy more time with family. It gets dark and that means shower time. It's been a wonderful day of wrenching and I'm off to bed. I'm almost as tired as after a full day of riding. End of Day Ten.
