fork brace question.........................
The K9 fork brace should be installed on top of your lower fork legs with the fork boots on top of the fork brace. Depending on how old your K9 fork brace is there have been a few different ways that these fork braces attached the fork boots to the top of the fork brace. As long as the fork brace is firmly attached to the lower fork legs they will fork fine. You should loosen all the bolts that attach the top plate to the fork brace clamps one the clamps are tight and then retighten the bolts for the top plate. This will allow the fork brace to center itself on your forks and not cause any binding in your suspension.

Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Fork Brace Question.........................
Please bear with me, I am no mechanic by any means and have a question about a used K9 Fork Brace that I installed today............
My question, "When I installed the K9 Fork Brace, I put/installed it over the rubber fork covers/boots. If I raised the fork covers/boots so that the K9 would be directly over the bare metal, the fork covers/boots would sit too high and I feared that dirt, etc., would get onto fork seals. It was a tad snug bit it fit. I think this is OK?"
Also, I immediately noticed an improvement in the fork (handling and feel), especially when turning.
How have you all installed the fork brace? Did you put it over the covers/boots? Or am I missing something?
Eddie
