brakes, batteries, rebuilds and everything else

Post by sopris_2000 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 10:25 pm

Engine rebuilds, bad batteries, brake pads, ain't life grand. My wife and I ride 05 and 06 KLR's. the bikes start, they stop and I haven't had to rebuild the engines yet with 30K miles on them. They are jeeps of the moto world, they are not pretty but they do everything. Fred sells me all the shit I need. The bikes work and we ride them. In 10 days, me and the wife are heading to Mexico/Central America for 3 months. Fred had a chance to come with us but he couldn't get his KLR running in time. I think he ran out of money because of this recession. So spend more money with Fred, maybe he can get his bike running and catch up with me and the wife, my wife doesn't ride very fast.

battery tenders

When out to ride yesterday in the unusualy HIGH temps of 42, for Michigan , and both bikes that I was sharing (Alternating every week) the tender with were almost dead, to low to start. The tender "charged" light was on each time, but NOT charging, threw a meter on it and only read 1.5volts (not amps) Point: Just Reminder to check the "Maintainer". Make sure the "guard" of the gate(s) is not sleeping. OOP'S [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
