D606's need replaced, and debating trying the T63 instead of going back to the IRC GP1's...
Thanks,

Yes. They are well priced, work well in dirt and gravel. Never tried them
in mud. Buzzy on the highway.

I have gone through one set of 606's and two sets of the T63's. The T63 is
not a bad tire for the cost, and they last as long as a 606. When they were
new they felt squirmy on pavement, but either I got used to it or they
broke in and I didn't notice it anymore. To be fair to the T63 tire, both
sets were mounted after a set of Avon Gripsters and Shinko
705's respectively, so a different feel was expected. I did do Deals Gap
and NC 28 eight times on my last set of T63's. Rode there from Louisiana at
75 mph and stayed in Robbinsville, NC with no issues. I stayed at the Two
Wheel Inn. The guy I rode up with said he knew a bunch of folks that would
be there. I had know idea this was the Knoxville Sport Bike Association. A
great group of people and excellent riders that know how to race on a track
and ride with reckless abandon on hilly curvy highways. I bet I was the
poorest and slowest guy there, but I had fun and learned a lot. Well I say
no issues. I did spin out one time on NC 28 near Fontana. I was angry that
the GSX's, CBR's , Ducati's and BMW ST1000's appeared to be leaving me and
my KLR behind. I miscalculated which turn was next, got into a very hard
left, no turning back curve. I never applied any brakes. (It really is like
all the books teach, when you are into a turn that is more than
you bargained for, go for it! Your brakes won't help.) I had two wheels
sliding. I watched my left elbow getting closer and closer to the black
top. I never let go , I kept on driving like nothing was wrong. (From the
old days of enduro and motocross racing, don"t give up till you are no
longer moving) I guess I scrubbed off enough speed and caught traction. It
popped up really hard and really fast. I was the old "Flying W", two feet
in the air and my face in the handle bars. I never gave up. On the way back
down my left foot found the seat. I got back on facing the opposite way in
the opposite lane, still upright. Why am I telling this? I don;t know, I
guess it scared the crap out of me and I was on T63's.
