The Super Sherpa has been made in Japan every year (including now) since 1997. Although sold in the USA only in 1999-2003 and again in 2009, it s been sold in Japan and a couple other countries in all years. Parts are easy to obtain. I knew the group would come through! There were too many replies to thank each of you individually! It sounds like the Super Sherpa is a great bike, and I've seen some good reviews on line. There are two for sale in my area, one in Phoenix and one in Tucson. Both are 2009 with low mileage. The one in Tucson has been lowered, so pretty close to perfect! The owner wants $3,400 but will negotiate. It's got about 4,000 miles, lowered, windshield, aftermarket luggage rack, and tank bag. The low stock front fender has been replaced with a more KLR looking fender up high. The other bike is stock, low miles, if I remember right he's looking for $3,200. So, my question is... I know about the old Sherpa. It sounds like the Super Sherpa went into production as a new model in 2009 but was not continued. Is this the case? How will this affect parts? All the reviews make it sound like a great bike, but if it was just produced for a single year, should I worry? Finally, are there pannier racks that will fit this bike, given the limited production? Not a big worry, I'm sure something like a Giant Loop bag would probably work. Thanks again! Bryan
