Hey all
Going over the KLR, new tires chain sprokets, shims, etc., getting ready for the BIG trip. Mich. to Seatle Wa., (down a bit etc. & home, I figure 5500 to 6000 RT)
Any ways My K1200lt (BMW) is also down, when you try to start a K bike besides the starter dragging, the old style relay locks up and it keeps trying even with the key off, burning up the relay (new style one $180.) and finish draining the battery. (had to replace it too,) The COMPUTOR wants over 12volts.
My point? The KLR has been starting just fine, even when I left the key on for 7 minutes.
so well I wasn't going to check the battery, but thought that was foolish while I have it torn down.......I pulled it and WOW one chamber was 3/4 full the other 5 had maybe 1 inch of water. Yet I statered and REstarted if a couple of times after installing the tires, BRIGHT light and all.
I know HOW did I let it go so long befor checking it, and WHY haven't I switch to a gell battery. (but WOW allmost dry and fired right up again and agian...YEEHA bullet proof.

295mm is the length of the stock 09' spacer.
I'd try cutting the new spacer 8 or 10mm longer.
The cushioning should still be okay. Again, the stock springs are pretty soft.
The added length will simply take up some of the slack.

Is 295m/m be the max lenght I should use ? Will I still have some cushioning ? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
