torque wrench for valve job

I remember that I had problems with finding the proper torque wrench last time I did my valves.
I went and sold everything so now I am starting over. My question is: Is a 1/4 or a 3/8 drive preferred? I guess it depends on the sockets that you are using on the rocker arms, etc. as there is not room for a size adapter as I recall.
Anyhow it looks like Amazon still has a good assortment as this is where I got my last ones.

It is worth a try--ask them for last weeks sale price.
Because I live 225 miles from a Sears store, the Rapid City, SD store has previously honored their sale price, even after it has ended--ONLY if the item is still in stock. I attribute it to my realistic access to a Sears store.

CAUTION!
Many people use extentions, etc., with torque wrenchs, but it changes the outcome of the torque.
(Jeff S. may better explain it better or let us ALL know if it's enough to matter.)
