I don't even think Watt-Man will say that his product does that, unless the radiator fan is already running because your water temp is already higher. A radiator bypass can DECREASE the amount of cooling but it can do nothing to INCREASE that amount. If so, rigging a handlebar switch to keep your fan running all the time would accomplish the same thing for about $6.95. -Jeff Khoury

I oiled the o-ring on my Thermo-Bob with synthetic spotted owl grease. Am I gonna get kicked off this list? eddie

Exactly! I get a kick out of the posts that say I wouldn t benefit from a Thermo-Bob because I don t ride in ARCTIC conditions . They re thinking it s got to be 20F outside to see a benefit . The cold-weather benefit starts around 70 to 80F. I did that published oil temp test at 60-65 F because it is a temp many people ride at, and their oil is too cold and the T-bob will raise oil temps at that condition to a more appropriate level. If I did that oil temp test at 40F or 20F, the improvement in oil temps would be even more dramatic. Some people are getting sidetraced with a "hotter is worse" mantra but it's all relative. If your oil is 140F, Hotter is better! If your oil is 240, yes, hotter is worse. What's the goal? Around 200 F all the time, all year. If I did the oil temp plot at an ambient temperature of 100F, the curves would be the same because either way, the stat s are wide open and the bikes are running coolant temps of 210F no matter if it s a stock bike, has a T-bob, or even no stat at all.
