My buddy has a 02 SV650 Front Master Cylinder that has 5/8" bore stamped on it. Don't know the other spec. which would be fulcrum to piston distance? ie leverage?
Would this work with my stock 04 front Caliper?
Thanks,

The 5/8 marking is an Imperial measurement - 5/8ths of an inch - not the ratio, the ratio is a word used for the relationship between the master cylinder diameter and the caliper piston diameters, and also for the mechanical advantage the the lever has over the m/cyl piston, that is; the distance between the lever pivot and the piston.
For any given system using a larger diameter m/cyl will result in less lever travel, but for any given brake pressure you'll need to squeeze the lever harder, a smaller diameter m/cyl will do the reverse - for any given brake pressure you'll need to pull the lever further but not as hard.
Don't know the ratio of the 2002 SV650...will probably just try and see if it fits and works.

Here's everything you wanted to know about sizing master cylinders:

My health insurance (blue cross PPO) covered my broken arm due to a motorcycle accident... no problem.

Health care? I have been TOLD, that some medical coverage from Work ETC. doe's NOT cover Motorcycle acidents, ski diving, etc. (High risk hobbies)
CHECK before deciding what is enough.

Any other moto insurance carriers that will cover more than $100,000 medical?
I have a friend who had $250,000 in medical insurance but it was from Lloyds of London. Don't know if it was a standard motorcycle insurance policy. BTW, he ended up using all $250,000 because of a bad accident.
I am bringing this topic up because I know of more than usual numbers of people injured on motos in the past couple of years. Also, some irate cager tried to hit me but my Oversized contour front rotor saved me.
What KLRistas should know is Obamacare is up in the air and we should be covered by healthcare insurance or vehicle insurance or both.
Many employers are cutting healthcare coverage.
