Hey guys, I've a question about side/kick stands. When I bought my 2009 KLR I asked the dealer to toss in some lowering links and he did. I'm verticly challanged and figured I'd need some help geting my leg over and feet on the ground once riding. He installed an adjustable lowering link and shortened the kickstand for me. I think he took about an inch off the stand and rewelded it. After I bought the bike I happened upon a lowered seat (TPI) and the price seemed right so I bought it and installed it. Right-away that put things way too low and the riding position felt really odd. So I started adjusting the links back up towards full height. I finally put the stock links back on and liked the setup and riding characteristics much better. I also found with the lowered seat I could almost get flat-footed on the ground at a stop with the standard, normal height links in it. Now the kickstand is too short. It's not unsafe, I don't think, but it does lean over
more than normal. Of course with that said it does still help me get my leg over the seat, so maybe its ok in the long run (I've been riding it like this for over a year now with no problems - it just bothers me that its too short I guess).
So here is what I'm wondering:
I know some folks (or someone) had made the older model kickstands adjustable. They did that by cutting the kinstand in two and welding a nut or nuts on theends then using a threaded rod to ajust the length. Has anyone done that with a later model stand that anyone is aware of?
and...
Does anyone have a stock late model kickstand for sale?
and...
IS anyone looking for a set of lowering links? Scooter Works 3 positions.

I think that he may be showing off his new net stockings. Accelerate.

OK, now what about the leg kick? Graz told me the background, but I
have different views.
