Just loving having my KLR back home again. Finally put 254 miles on it to see where it was at fuel mileage and it took 4.6 of regular/no ethanol for 55 mph messing about my area. Average speeds between 45 and 55 mostly. My diode package from Fred came in today ( Thanks a million Fred ) AND a set of rider footpegs from EBay off an '06 KLR as the rubber was cracking bad and worn on the old ones.
Now waiting to see what's happening at North Central Arkansas and the Buffalo river where I really want to leave for in a few days. Be like an anniversary for me and the KLR as we have roamed so many miles back the Canyon area through the years.

thank you, fred hink!
Just a brief note to thank Fred for a bit of extraordinary service. After disassembling my carb in hopes of getting to the root of some problems, I discovered a tiny hole in the diaphragm. My local dealer wanted $140 for a new one. I called Fred, who quoted an identical price, and explained that part of the cost was because the diaphragm and slider came assembled together. Then he said, "On the other hand, you may want to call your Harley dealer, and ask for a diaphragm for a Sportster. They'll sell you one for $40, and all you need to do is drill one hole in the slider a little larger."
My new diaphragm is on order and should arrive this week. Thanks, Fred, for saving me some money and teaching me something at the same time!
