nklr harley riders say/ air horn

Post by mark ward » Tue Mar 15, 2011 8:35 am

$30 AIR HORN, Sounds like a truck, SCARES people into looking thinking they are in the way of a BIG truck. I put one on each bike, except the K1200lt, like a gold wing it comes with a LOUD HORN. Tap the horn 1/2 a block away when someone on a phone is about to pull out. IF you have ever ridding infront of a LOUD pipe bike, you realize the sound isn't so bad,, MEANING that people MOVING, driving infront of you don't realy hear them much. BUT WITH AN AIR HORN POINTED FORWARD THEY HEAR YOU. Like when they start to eaz into your lane cutting you off, Just touch the horn, They GET BACK IN PLACE. (while looking for the truck.) $30. and you don't effect the engine at all.

Date: Tuesday, March 15, 2011, 3:46 AM Jeff (and others), I have a stock 2007 650 and the muffler is very quiet. I live in NYC and would like to install a louder muffler for safety purposes. Normally i ride my 1970 honda cb350 around the city and if i give it some throttle while going between traffic people hear me. I cant say the same for the klr. Its a bit dangerous. I was also thinking of replacing the horn with a euro horn http://klr650.com/EuroHorn.htm and need some advice. It seems like a good option and i can plug it in the same spot as the old one. What do you guys think? Can you also suggest a nice-not too loud mufler?
