I haven't really followed this mod as I generally don't mess with the
mechanicals of a stock system that's working OK. My Tengai is at 60K
miles and loses no oil.
I can see how this PCV thing can control oil consumption. However,
has anyone actually measured the crankcase vacuum created by one of
these valves? Without any sort of breather or control/relief valve, I
would guess the vacuum is pretty strong, being a big one-banger with
no opposing piston to help equalize pressure. I think too much
vacuum would prevent oil from sufficiently making it to the rings,
accelerating piston/cylinder wear. Also, an increased amount of
blow-by and unburnt fuel would enter the crankcase, putting more
strain on the oil additives.
Anyone?

kick stand safety alternative?
Yes, even a speed bump can make that noise. Irritating.

pcv mod... too much crankcase vacuum?
A friend of mine is leaking oil quite a bit after he did the 685 conversion. I guess this might help him?
