So, its still winter in Minnesota, but as I am want to do I change my oil in the A16 late last fall so it is ready to go this spring. I like synthetic and as Amsoil motorcycle oil was not on the shelf down at the store, I grabbed Lucas synthetic motor oil. I thought what the heck. - motorcycle specific oil, ought to be good as anything for the klr.
So- I now read some of the specific details on the Lucas oil brochure online for the red label lucas synthetic I purchased. States "not recommended for wet clutches".
So, I spend 7 bucks a quart for motorcycle specific synthetic oil - and last I remember the KLR650 is indeed, a motorcycle. And now I come to learn that the motorcycle specific oil I bought is not for all motorcycles. It states in the fine print not recommended for wet clutch applications. So, this oil is actually "specific motorcycle motorcycle specific synthetic oil". what a crock, like I should have to read the fine print. I think it has Moly (molybdememumemnum)
this oil is in now my bike I have run it perhaps 10 minutes.
So aside from looking forward to calling their customer service and giving the dipshxts a piece of my mind, has anyone tried this stuff.?? I am knowledgable regarding avoiding friction modifiers in bike oil , etc. but seriously, who'd-ah thought you could by bike oil that isn't recommended for your bike. flippin stupid. maybe I will take it out and use it in the F150.
