Hi, Mark, With regards to custom seats, my butt used to get sore after an hour in the saddle. I tried the WalMart ATV seat, and did not get relief. I decided to have the seat redone by Spencer's Motorcycle Seat Mods at GreatDayToRide.com. He replaced the stock foam with a variety of different foams in such a way that it relieved the pressure points. Since my seat cover was starting to tear, I sent him a no-slip cover by Cycle Works to install at the same time. The costs were: $85 seat work $45 replacement cover $30 round-trip shipping $25 eBay seat to use during the interim $185 total I generally don't ride longer than four hours, so I can't tell you much about the comfort on a long trip. But I can say that the improved comfort I got from this set up was well worth the $185. I wasn't sure how I'd like the no-slip cover, but now I don't think I'd want a bike without one. Just personal preference. Kevin
