Does anyone on the list have a stock seat pan to sell? I only need the plastic pan, I don't care of the seat cover or foam condition. Thanks, Shane

seat pan

I replaced my seat with a rebuilt off of Craigslist. Now I have this old seat, worn out and falling apart. The pan is still good, but needs to be recovered. What should I ask for it? I would like to sell it, and maybe pay for the new seat, or sort of. What are these things worth? Kawasaki wants $375 for the whole seat, and will not sell in parts. What do you think?

Used pan/beater-seat is worth $25-30. A good stock seat goes for $50-75. Mark At 4:17 PM +0000 8/26/09, klr650guy wrote:

07s seem to have gone up on bluebook, can't say that about many other anythings.

By design, I meant the bike as a whole and is very subjective.   The newer 08+ bikes have better lighting (headlight), windshield (although it still sucks), brakes (dual piston front and I think a larger single in the rear). The exaust is slightly larger and has better bends. I feel the instruments are better as well. The tank is slightly larger. The alternator has a larger capacity. Their may be more, but I'm burnt out from work.   The older has a longer suspension, looks more like a dirt bike (and the military model) and has a slightly larger stable of aftermarket parts-again I'm sure there is more, but I have limited brain power at this point.   M <><><><><><><> <><><><><><><>   M,   Thanks.  That was fast.   I agree it's a pretty subjective subject.  You make some great points I hadn't thought about.   Best, Jeff Saline ABC # 4412  South Dakota Airmarshal Airheads Beemer Club www.airheads.org The Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota 75 R90/6, 03 KLR650, 79 R100RT . . ____________________________________________________________ Get Free Email with Video Mail Video Chat!
