Most bikes for rent are 350/ 500 enfield copies. Good luck finding a road where you could do 70 mph in India. The klr would be a great choice considering the road conditions there. I would rather do South America.....if I could bypass some Central American countries. I have been there some. Chile is beautiful. Parts of Argentina are similar. I did a day trip to Uruguay and would like to see more as well as more Brazil. Venezuela has a lot to see but Hugo needs to retire. I think Colombia is getting safer. Ecuador and parts of Peru have interested me also. Problem is getting through some parts of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Any listers have that Royal Endfield Bullet. It looks cool but have heard 70 mph is about top speed. Why don't India make a Matchless like Dick Mann rode? If they made a fairly decent gravel road to a viewpoint where you could see Everest maybe I'd be interested in India / Nepal? The Andes are pretty dang impressive (and closer). Sorry, if I seem crabby about this subject. I don't mean to be 'flaming' or whatever the kids call it these days. It kind of bugs me when I have to undo what someone thought was a good idea. This not only pertains to motorcycles but many aspects of the way people decided to live their lives around me. At this point, I might be overly focused on 'Spartan Utility' rather than living for the moment but that seems to be a bit over rated from my experiences. He asked me if I thought that would hurt it. Yes I said. His is still running. Mine is still running great at 53,000 plus miles. Some say Kawasaki is going to put the Versy engine in the KLR. As a Versy owner also, I don't that engine is right for the KLR for dirt use. I like the big thumper power characteristics of the KLR for off road. Maybe they could make a 800 cc thumper with about 50 rearwheel horsepower and 6 gears. That would be better in my opinion for our uses with a KLR.
