mixing multiple oil types?

Hope nobody mistakes this for a "which oil is best" thread starter.
I have several different types of oil that I'm wondering
if there would be a problem mixing them together.
What I have is:
10w-40 Castrol Activo motorcycle oil (dino)
10w-40 Castrol GTX (dino)
5w-40 Rotella T6 (synthetic)
14w-40 Rotella T (dino)
This would go into my 2005 KLR with around 25k miles.
The oil would be changed around 2k miles but I might have
enough of these to make two oil changes. I may only need to
mix two or three at once but eventually they may all have to go
into a concoction together.
Anyone have a reason I shouldn't do this?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
I don't have any hard data about this but do have a gut feeling.
Actually it's more like a gut rumbling.
I don't think it would be a huge issue with the dino oils. I'm guessing
with all of this but think there might be some compatibility issues with
the dino and synthetic oils.
I would not mix them together in something as valuable as a KLR but
probably wouldn't hesitate to mix them for an old lawn mower.
Cost is pretty small for a couple of more quarts of oil to complete an
oil change with any of them. I would try to err on the side of caution
instead of experiment on my KLR.
So if I did mix them I'd reduce my oil change interval to about 1,000
smiles and be willing to change oil immediately if I thought something
was amiss.

~~~I have some real world experience with this. Back around 2002 I was riding an ST 1100 Honda (93 model year). Plenty of miles on the motor (50 K +). I used Mobil One car motor oil exclusively (red cap 15/50) in this bike but once conming back from the west coast going through AZ, I couldn't buy Mobil One nor any other synthetic oil to top off the motor, and it was low on oil as I used close to a quart (of petroleum oil) to top it off, No problemo. Left that oil in the crankcase rest of the trip home. Put another 40 K miles on that bike before I sold it
#ygrps-yiv-689030573 p {margin:0;}According to a source I trust: mixing oils, while not preferable, is perfectly fine. The rule-of-thumb is to try to stay with the same manufacturer as the additive package will be similar, just with a mineral base rather than synthetic.
As always, I will refer all readers to
Jeff,
Thanks for the reply, cost isn't really an issue, it's just that it's likely that I'd evenutally end up with as much, or even more, of a particular oil if I buy more. I'd like to just use it up and then stick with one type. (mmm, I wonder which one would...oh, never mind!)
I think I'll just mix them without the synthetic and take it from there.
Both. Make my own maps with MapSource software for areas I'm riding to use with Garmin 60CSx. Getting better at using them all the time. Did several trips last year which wouldn't been possible without. One set of rechargeable AA's last almost two days of full use if it's not too cold.
