Stu, The seat got me 3/4" lower. I measured this two ways. First, putting different thickness of boards on the garage floor and switching seats. 3/4' boards under my feet with the stock seat felt the same as no boards with the Africa seat. I also hung a plum bob from the ceiling to just touching the top of my head with the stock seat, then put on the Africa seat and had about 3/4" clearance. I was a little disappointed I didn't get the full 11/2" as advertised, but 3/4" lower did make a noticeable difference. I also installed 11/2" lowering links and raised the fork tubes 1" out of the triple tree. So, I am now about 21/4" lower and am happy with that. Craig Kahler
