it quit

I have an 06 KLR 650. I filled it with gas, road about 120 miles and was riding along and it quit running. I stopped and tried to start it, it only turned over, would not start. I turned the switch on and off a couple of times, still won't start. Turned on the choke and it tried to start, so I turned it to reserve. It started right up and ran fine. Turned the valve back to on after about 1 mile, ran without issue for 20 miles and it started to die. Reached down and turned it on reserve, fired right up never even came to a stop. Turned the valve immediately to on Ran fine for the rest of the day - approximately 70 miles. Got in, filled it up, took about 4 gallons of gas and have ridden over a hundred miles without issue????????
