front rim question

Hey guys, new member here. I got a 2006 KLR650 a week ago. Previous owner tried to make front tubeless. There is a tubeless valve stem and Slime as evidence. I took a low speed turn a few days ago and the tire partly unseated from the rim. Almost lost the bike.
My question: I bought the correct tube. Is it likely the PO drilled out the valve stem hole to pull off this stunt? Am I looking at buying a new rim?

Norm Keller wrote in April 2007 about using Honda Valve stem seals. I
don't remember the particulars but did save his one liner about the
parts.
"Honda 42714-KA3-710 tire valve stem seals on front & rear."
I suppose a guy could take a look and see if these would fit the hole and
maybe keep the valve stem in place. Hope I'm not sending you on a wild
goose chase.

I don't see why you should have. a problem using a tube with the slightly bigger hole. As Jeff suggests, some valve stem seals might help keep grit out, but your tube should be happy with a little extra room for the stem to flex.

Maybe if you changed your name to "Used to be Shakin'" Jake it would work better?

I had what sounds like a similar problem, if not identical. Between 84 and 90 MPH (indicated - my speedometer reads 10% faster than the GPS) I used to get what started as a wobble then built up to swaying back and forth. It almost felt like I had some kind of harmonic vibration with the bike. (of course, this test was done by a trained professional on a closed track).
For separate reasons, I upped my preload to 4 and reduced my tire pressure from 31psi to 25psi. It turned out this problem all but went away. I still have a small wobble but it doesn't build in intensity the way it used to.
