I've had Silverstar 55W bulbs in my 09' since nearly new and have been pleased with the light output.
Then I found a Visionari 5000k (white-white)H.I.D.conversion kit on eBay for $41.99 shipped and wondered how good could a cheap
setup be? They supposedly last 3000 hours and have a a year warranty and 1-800 number for replacement parts, if needed.
A day or two to consider it and they shipped out Monday and arrived today. lol
Pleasantly surprised was my 1st reaction. The kit appears well constructed with water proof connections,
plug-n-play simplicity and a price about equal to a pair set of short-lived Silverstars.
How short? A few hours after I ordered the H.I.D. kit, the low beam on my bike burned out. No kidding!
I had to enlarge the hole through the rubber bulb protectors to accomodate the grommets made into the new wiring and bend the wire bulb holders in a little to get a snug fit. But, the installation was really straightforward and took about 1 hour.
I did just the low beam first - keeping the halogen high beam for comparison.
Key on and WOW! The Silverstar halogen bulb looks like a flashlight with mediocre batteries next to the H.I.D.
A claimed 200w of light with just 35w of current draw each and so far, the kit seems like money well spent.
Can't wait to try 'em out with a night ride!

Is there a proper lumens measurement at proper distance listed on the paperwork?

Mine are aimed a little high and I get people flashing me and even had a dude in a Porsche try to wreck me (multiple times - slammed on his brakes, tailgated, lunged at me from the side) because my low beam displeased him. I still remember his plate number, I'd LOVE to know where he lives so I could pay him a visit sometime.
I can imagine that going crazy-bright will be good for you but may draw the ire of other drivers and John Q. Law. In many areas it is illegal to retrofit HIDs into standard freeform reflectors because they do not control the beam well.

Having something bright with a safety intent, I'm not too concerned. I only took the side panels off my 09' to get at the bulbs. So, unfortunately I didn't see a aiming mechanism. Might do for a project soon as I'm going to have to pull everything again to do a valve inspection in a few hundred miles. I feel your pain with the Porsche idiot. Today, I watched carefully as a lady in a SUV rolled through a stop sign and pulled out in front of me. It wasn't scary close. But, I ran up behind her fairly quickly while braking to avoid her. The proximity made her next bonehead move the kicker: She flicked her cigarette ashes out the window and in my face. Would it be redundant to mention the cell phone propped against her ear the entrire time? She had no clue! I gave her a brief blast from the Stebel air horn and shook my head. Surprsingly, she pulled over,stopped and rolled her window all the way down. I took the chance and stopped beside her. Her, "Is there something wrong?" Me, "Yea. You ran a stop sign in front of me and then flicked your ashes in my face. That's TWO things wrong. Now hang up the phone and DRIVE!". Then I rode off - leaving her to whatever was going through her self-important mind. eddie
