Pep Boys and some other auto parts stores sell automatic resetting circuit breakers. Avail. in different amp ratings. They will plug in blade type fuse holders. Go up 5 amps max and this might get you on the road again. Though you might have to stop for a minute every 5 miles or so.
I replaced my main glass fuse with this system but I have never had a short or open on that circuit so never had to really test it. I would check/trace the battery main ground thick black wire...But, one would think that an 08 wouldn't have that many miles on it. Just moving wires might get you going again...much more likely if you have an automatic resetting circuit breaker. Taking off the seat and changing fuses often is no fun.
I have an 04. Had only 2 electrical problems. The rear blinkers were crossed up at the dealer when I bought it. Left was right and right was left. REAL SAFE! Then after a couple of thousand miles I had an open and one side of my blinkers stopped working. I traced it to under the tank. Insulation was fine but the thin wire inside had broken.
