Has anyone installed Dual-Star's KLR hydraulic clutch? If so, would you please share your experiences in installation and performance. Thank you.

Has anyone have tried out the Hydraulic Clutch upgrade on their KLR? If so, how do you like it? Any problems? Kinda spendy though @ $240. Anyway`s I have some time on my hands and it just so happens that I have most of all the tools & equipment to make my own and I`m ichin to give it a try. Why not? I`m planning on usuing stainless steel seamless 3/16 tubing untill I get to the steering head, then a braided hose line to the aftermarket master cylinder I will install on the bars. Trust me I`m no engineer, but it seems it would be really easy to do, except I`m a bit stuck on the actuator part. Looks like it`s a $40 dollar part but I don`t know what the size is. Does anyone know what the bore size and the stroke length for the actuator is? And maybe any other info? Thanks.

Dual Star has a great looking unit, I ordered one last week and will let the group know how it works out.  I'm not fond of the mechanical unit that comes stock.   Doug 09 KLR

Let us know how it works out. I was looking at that then I came to the realization that I have every thing down in my basement to make my own. All except the actuator I would need to buy. Just need to know the bore & stroke measurements are? Not that I`m trying to copy someone else`s work, just less headaches that way. My lucky guess is 3/8" bore and 2" stroke? Hardline tubing is my creative outlet. I saved a friend of mine $300 for making a replacement transmission/cooler line for his jeep that he says that couldn`t be done. Ha! I knew that my aircraft mechanics training would come in handy someday.

Seemed too expensive for my blood, its not like the clutch is all that hard to pull in. Heck I have a "Shorty" lever on mine so I can wrap two end fingers around the bars when playing and still be able to use the clutch. Dooden A15 Green Ape

Sounds like an answer to a question that nobody has asked: "How can I spend a bunch of dough to make my clutch less reliable, for no noticeable improvement in function?" Although if I had the clutch that Paul Streeter had on one of his bikes, perhaps I would be singing a different tune.
