klr sits for one year and....

I hadn't been to my wife's California house for a year. During that time, my west coast KLR sat in the garage, covered with a blanket. Never touched for 12 months.
It has an AGM battery in it and I had put Seafoam in the tank when I put it away in April 2009. I didn't even turn off the fuel tap - left with a full carburetor. After about 4 seconds of cranking, it started up as if it had been yesterday that it last ran.
Now back in PA. When I put the KLR away this time, I added Seafoam again, and ran the carb out of gas. Not sure when I will get to go back again - maybe October, possibly sooner - but I'm less worried about it sitting for such long periods.
