I just bought a 93 KLR 650. I don't have a repair manual yet. I think I might have a charging issue. Could someone tell me what the charging output voltage is and maby how to test voltage regulator and stator?
Be for I go out and buy new. Thanks to who ever can help.

marks klr mods,h.p. !
#ygrps-yiv-1265185715 p {margin:0;}I don't think I would go as far as re-jetting the carb, etc.
I have done the slide drill/needle shim/idle mixture adjust mod on the carb, the tweetyectomy and the de-californication.
These three mods gave a noticeable addition of "snap" in the low-to-mid area. Top end was not affected by much at all. Gas mileage went down a bit, but not enough for me to complain about it.
I think anything beyond that would give diminishing returns, as I've heard from very experienced KLR tuners. The further you go, the more your mileage will suck for very small incremental improvements.

Jud i already explained in my other post that more H.P.was not my intention, bigger piston and as you suggest better suspension would help in this area,I'm looking for a more tractable motor as in "IE"fr e'er breathing, more air getting in and Gas. All OEM engines from the factory be they cars bikes "Blah Blah"are Strangled for emissions purposes so like the nu-arty boy that i am,I'm going to put a little more CO2 than i should into the atmosphere to see if i can wake this motor up a bit,if it doesn't work guess what i can go back to stock and thanks for your input anyway. Exhaust and intake/carb mods will not net you more than 3hp on any credible dyno. If you want a faster KLR, spend the money on suspension. --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, stuart sullivan wrote: > > > http://www.angelfire.com/mo/motormark/mikescarbmod.html > This is the link for the carb mods won't download right when i try to add it to my post, looks quite straight forward, lets face it the KLR motor out of the box is"Can you say strangled"nuff said. > > Stu. > > __________________________________________________________ > Videos that have everyone talking!
