What's the best way to try rubber-mounted handlebars? I've got the gel hand grips, I've filled the handlebars with lead shot, I've adjusted the valves and the balancer chain tension. But I really want to reduce the handlebar vibration more. I still have the original steel handlebars. I've heard aluminum fat bars would be better, though that would take a lot of replacement of everything currently on the handlebars wouldn't it (mirror mounts, switch clusters, throttle, accessory mounts, etc.) So I'm wondering about rubber-mounted handlebars. I see things like "PRO TAPER RUBBER MOUNTED HANDLEBAR MOUNT KIT" -- has anybody here tried things like these? Chris, I have ProTapers on both of my KLRs and my DL1000. And the KLRs have bark busters as well. Very easy and straightforward installation and a significant reduction in vibration on all three. The Pro Tapers are 1.125in diameter at the triple clamps but shrink to 7/8 inch at the grips. Installation was easy and quick. Stock grips are a bitch to remove, but they will eventually come off..........

Notice what type of bike the Rox Risers are on, KTM... More vibration than a KLR... Put some #6 lead shot inside the bars and enjoy a new feeling. Mike H.

Thanks. I've got lead shot in the handlebars now, though I don't know what size it is. I hear the ProTaper aluminum bars really cut the vibration. I guess the ATV ProTapers at ArrowheadMotorsports.com are the "standard" replacement on the KLR? C-C-Chris (still vibrating)
