killer riding right near la, rowher flat ohv

Rowher Flat looks good. I haven't been that far south on the KLR yet, though. Anywhere in that direction, I am usually roaming the coastal range or the Sierras. Arguably one of the best Off-Road areas in California, Clear Creek (CCMA) in San Benito County, has been closed by the BLM due to asbestos hazard.  I rode my west coast KLR past it twice, never knowing that there were thousands of acres in there, free for riding - until it was closed. Then I knew about it! Too bad. I even stopped at the entrance once to take a break and took a picture: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1008927/Kawasaki%20KLR%20at%20Clear%20Creek.jpg My GPS showed the road back there, going up to Idria, but a lot of times, it shows roads that are private, or end after 30 miles or so, which means I have to turn back -- or risk the evil stares of sheep and other livestock. For those that don't know, I'm not from CA but my wife is and is still a resident. And, somewhere in the garage, a green '06 KLR is buried under blankets and stuff - I haven't been out there since April. I wonder if the battery is still good? Monty wrote:
