oem clutch life?

Jeeper: I have my '06 apart right now (totally disassembled engine). The OEM clutch has 22.6K miles on it and it is within spec. Spec is 2.80mm - 3.10mm and mine is +/- 3.08mm all the way around on the one disc I checked. All of the friction material, on all discs, front and back, still have well defined grooves, so I'm assuming that 'all' discs are in spec. The solid metal discs still show the stippling (tiny dipples) in the metal surface to add some texture. I don't do wheelies (on purpose), I run a 15T:44T sprocket set, 6:1 / 5:1 ratio of highway vs dirt road miles, on trips I bet that me and my gear probably run between 300# - 350#. From my findings, I would assume that your clutch is in good shape. Don R100, A6F

My 06KLR is at 30000 miles and I may want to replace the clutch pack if it is close to needing replacement. >
