I have a problem with my back brake and need some advice. the problem is that it sticks when I use it . so far I have not been able to solve it . here is what I have done so far .
dismantled caliper checked shoes there ok pushed piston in and out several times the last few times I was able to do it by hand . I thought this would clear return on master cylinder
flushed master cylinder with fresh fluid bled brakes and they worked fine for about a half a dozen times then same problem .I have checked to make sure pedal is releasing all the way. when I use the brake it does not stay on all the way it just drags . I have determined that there is pressure on shoes I can relieve pressure at bleeder screw and the brake releases. short of replacing m/c what else is there to do .can the m/c be dismantled to clean it if so how I am 99% sure problem is in m/c ,am I wrong,has anyone had this problem

rear brake problem
First off, I want to thanks those of you who offered me advice last time I asked a question! Now my situation is a rear brake system that is bringing air into the brake fluid via the rear master cylinder. The whole assembly is over $200.00. Is there a place to buy a generic cylinder on the cheap? Or perhaps they sell rebuild kits if that is a viable method of repair? Thanks for your help!

rear brake problem

I don't know what year your bike is, but I looked on the microfiche at Ron Ayers for my 2005 model. The piston ( 43020-1094) is available for $35 and, the way I read it, comes with the seals. If the rubber boot needs replacement, it looks like you'd have to buy the rod-assy-brake (43010-1062).

Of course, if the cylinder bore of your master cylinder is pitted, it would need to be replaced. Perhaps you could find something on ebay.
