I know I've asked before, and I probably sound like a broken record, but I am ready to order later today, or tomorrow. Sorry if this is redundant, but I really only want to buy this once, and I don't have other KLR riders nearby, to try the various seats before I buy. I am trying to decide on a lower seat for my 2009 KLR. As I mentioned before, I am mainly considering the Corbin Dual Platform, the TPI Dual Platform, and the Sargent Low. I am leaning very, very heavily to the Corbin....... Price on all are close enough that it is not an issue. If it were an issue, all appear to be good, so I'd go TPI for price point. Corbin and Tpi are leather. Sargent is Vinyl, as near as I can gather. Does anyone have a TPI? It basically looks almost like the Corbin. It would seem to me that Leather, either Corbin, or TPI, would be more prone to absorbing water than the Vinyl that Sargent has. I have been caught in the rain, but I am not a habitual wet rider..... so perhaps this is a non-issue. Corbin, OTOH, seems to be lower than the rest. Corbin also has a lifetime warranty on all but the cover; Sargent is 1 year, with a 30 day Money Back. TPI is a 1 year also. So, Corbin has the most going for it right now. I don't mind the harder seat that some say the Corbin has; I am more interested in durability. I feel the stock is way to soft, so that may be a real good reason to go Corbin. Like I said, I am getting ready to order. If I hear nothing, it will be a Corbin. I have a Corbin that came with the used bike I bought on Craigslist. I have had Corbins before. The only thing is, it tends to throw me forward too hard when I go downhill or brake even moderately and I have to push myself back too much. It is great for trailriding where I want to be lower and act like I was on my old dirt bikes, sliding around on dirt, crossing streams, sharp corners.'(However, I should probably spend more time on the pegs in these cases, but, hey, I can be lazy. Ask my wife. But in stop and go riding and on downhill curves, it sometimes is an inconvenience. Mine dips near the tank, to allow for shorter riders. My taller sons hate it, but it is comfortable on longer rides when I am not braking and going downhill a lot and ending up in the lower saddle........I just stretch out a bit and throw my butt back, and does allow for some incremental butt adjustments. I am sure this just confused you more. Sorry! It is based on the dip in the seat, more than anything, and probably happens with all such seats. I have had Corbins on BMW's and SV650. I have the Corbin 'flat' seat in vinyl. I'm 6'2" so I'm OK with the KLR's height. I just completed 2,500+ miles on the KLR (400 mile days) and I like the harder foam and that I could shift back and forth, left & right (no foam memory) and avoided any saddle sores. With all of gear on the bike, the suspension stays compressed some and the seat is relatively horizontal to the road, so I really don't slide forward. I like this set up. It just so happens it's a Corbin. Don R100, A6F

Seats are like underwear. Everyone's butt likes different underwear. Meet with other KLRistas and try their on for size. Jim

I've had both Corbins. A bit too firm off road for me. Ok on road for long ass hauls. I went with a Sargant. It was too soft? for long ass hauls. I don't remember. I got the saddleman travelcade gel on sale for about $110. Used the Sergant cover and hit it with the staple gun. The rest as they say is history. Done a couple 600+ mile days. Not huge mileage. But good enough for me and my tractor. Jim
