first gear torrent jackets on sale nklr

Post by Jeff Saline » Fri Oct 09, 2009 9:42 am

Listers, I was just talking with Martin Earl (RevMaaatin) about excellent experiences dealing with www.newenough.com . He just called them to cancel an order from last night so he could change the order for jackets he really wanted. The First Gear Torrent Air Mesh Jacket has just gone on sale for $65. Regular price is about $200 so this is what I would refer to as a killer deal. Not all sizes are available but if they have a size and color you like this is worth consideration. The Torrent equals as a replacement for the Air Mesh Kilimanjaro which is discontinued. It has a removable liner that is warm and waterproof. I bought a Torrent last summer when it went on sale for $119 and thought that was the best deal I'd ever see. I understand there is a limited quantity of these jackets available (something about a train wreck and insurance) so the first to the trough will get to partake. Take a look at www.newenough.com in the close out section under First Gear, Mesh Jackets and Pants to find this deal. This isn't the cheapest, but gerbing electric gear under an aero-stich suit is mighty comfortable. To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com From: judjonzz@... first gear torrent jackets on sale nklr

I was thinking of getting one myself, but, I'm not sure of the size. I tried a first gear jacket ( not the torrent) on at my local mc shop. The large seemed to fit a little snug and the xl arms were too long. I have a large mesh joe rocket that fits snug too. I guess my question would be, does to mess give a little extra room? ken _____ From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of robertwaters Sent: Saturday, October 10, 2009 2:47 PM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Re: First Gear Torrent Jackets on Sale NKLR I just ordered one. <><><><><><><> <><><><><><><> Ken, Sorry I don't have experience with other makes of jackets. Once I started using First Gear Kilimanjaro jackets, and now the Torrent, I don't have any interest in other gear. If it helps at all... I'm 5' 9" and weight about 175 pounds. I normally wear a size 40 or 42 coat and in the First Gear jackets I find a large to fit well. Not hanging off loose but loose enough so I have room to freely move. At sub freezing temps down to about 5 degrees they start to get a tad snug when I'm wearing a tee shirt, heated vest, sweatshirt, liner and the jacket. For this kind of price I think you could risk it and if it just doesn't fit wait a few weeks till they aren't on sale anymore and then sell in like new condition for exactly what you have in to it for cost and shipping.
