cracked case repair

It's hard to believe I've been away from the KLR group for 5+ years. The A15 needs help. Besides being almost completely disassembled by my business partner while I was in Costa Rica running the business, the case is cracked right next to the oil drain plug. It leaks worse than an old HD on a bad day. I think I can put Humpty Dumpty back together again, but I'm not sure what to do with the case. Is it aluminum or magnesium? If it's aluminum, I thought I might try this Dura-Fix stuff I've seen online. If it's magnesium, I thought I might try the Loctite version of JB weld. Any thoughts?
TIA,
Bill

Bill,
Not having seen the crack my suggestions are to take the engine to a
welder and let them fix it correctly.
Also, consider your business partner. A good one would have the bike
ready for you to ride upon your return. : )

At least read the homepage. Can you count how many lies?
"Thus we come to the deliberate conclusion that the only patriotic thing
to do is to just say no to all thrillcraft on all public lands."
