This is the same group buy I used to buy my original SPOT unit over a year ago. The nice thing is that the group buy organizer is here locally in the DFW area. Like Mike said, it's not perfect, but it can help narrow down a search in the event that something happens ... such that people are looking at where you might have been in a 40 minute period rather than having to spread out over a 300 mile area.
