Well hershonm - IMO your ride report was a glowing endorsement for the
thumper. Buy a nice Yuasa battery when your OEM unit dies, plug it into a
Tender then add fuel and change the oil as you have and keep on riding.
Seems your good at piling up miles and my hats off to ya. I'm constantly
amazed at all the guys who do so many road miles on the KLR. Recently read
where someone was even entered in the Iron Butt on one! Added a DualStar
center stand to my 02 and it's OK but WAY better than not having one.
Balance point is close but that aids when changing a flat or tire. For the
price you'd be hard pressed to find a bike capable of doing so much. There
are better road bikes IMO but I'm not taken' the bait. Love the KLR for
what it is and what I've made it into. A civilized dual sport.
