I have the same problem after not running my 02 (4K miles) for a while. I
just let it idle for a few minutes, with some choke on, and it clears
itself. Good luck with that.

brake light appears to be stuck on
Hoping some of the experts can help me out I'm in Tonopah Nevada heading to Utah. Stayed last night at a motel named just for KLR riders, the Clown Motel.
Anyway, my brake lights aren't working and it seems they are stuck "on" thought it's hared to tell. When it's in flashing mode (LEDs) the lights flash when I first turn the key, then it stops, just like it would if I were breaking. I have it in normal mode now.
I disconnected the rear brake spring (which I assume works the rear switch) but no change. When I press either front or rear brakes, no light come on brighter. I suspect the front brake switch but am looking for all possibilities.
All the lights work, turn signals running lights, etc. (though the headlight burned out yesterday but I replaced it).
I will try to check the website as I move towards Utah. Your help is greatly appreciated.
2003 KLR with blade fuses, LED brake lights, rear turn signals as running lights (LED).
Thanks,
Mike
