Eddie,
I want to write and thank you for posting this. I looked at the item online and read the reviews. It looked nice in the photos so I said "What the heck" and ordered it. After all, what did I really have to lose, $20.00?
It arrived about a week later, and I ran out and immediately installed it. It took about 30 minutes of fidgeting with it to get it in place the way I wanted it, and then the moment of truth. I sat on the bike and immediately noticed a difference. The seat feels firmer and wider with it on there. It did increase seat height by about 1/2". I have a 32" inseam, so when I'm wearing boots, my heels BARELY touch the ground. It also added what feels to be 1" to total width which is a welcome addition as well. It felt a little funny the first few rides I took with it on there, but I've gotten used to it now.
The proof in the pudding came Sunday. I spent most of the day riding all over Los Angeles, putting in about 250 miles. The difference was astounding. No more hotspot on my tailbone. No more hotspots on my hip joints. A slight shift here and there kept me comfortable riding around all day. I only wish I had it for that 1200 mile Big Sur trip I just got back from.
I wholeheartedly recommend this to the list members. It is far superior to a sheepskin and I can't say how it compares to a Corbin, but it is vastly better than the stock seat alone.
I've had two people comment on it... one said he liked the "tread pattern".
IMHO, it would be a bargain at twice the price. And no, I don't work for Wal-Mart or Stearns.

I have seen a few of them on KLR's, the KLR riders who had them all swear by the seat covers. A poor man's Corbin if you will. Anyway, the problem was in locating the seat cover at Wally World. It seems that this is a seasonal item. Good news, the season has opened. I was able to order one on-line for about $20 including shipping! http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10727537 I'll let you all know how good they are once it arrives and I try it. But, come on, for $20 it is one of the least expensive farkles that I have bought. Eddie (03' KLR "la poderosa") [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
