I know what you mean. I get the same reaction when I use my Horn.

 Gary
Been riding quiet bikes for over 4 decades. No problem. (Before that,
my Triumph and a Harley Sportster were loud, not because I thought it
would save my life, but because I thought it sounded BAD and everyone
who heard it, had to think that I was special.)

Really? Wow. My bike had a Supertrapp open disc can on it when I
bought it, and I haven't changed it yet. It's louder than I'd like, but
actually seems to quiet down once it warms up (that's with earplugs, so
no, I'm not getting deafer... 6 or 7 discs with SS packing.) It came
in at 93 dB when I had it tested at the last LA-B2V ride. I think 96 is
the current limit. The Laser has got my attention, but I'm not going
that route until it has "The Stamp" or I get a good look at the spark
 arrestor.

That's why I think the test that had the KLR stock exhaust just over
 96db was not quite right.

I certainly wouldn't certify my high reading either but relatively
speaking my KLR650 was louder that the other smaller dualies. Mine
is a Y2k model & I think some of the KLR650 during that time (& may
still) had defective mufflers that produced a variety of whistles.
I'm pretty sure mine is one of those.

Might be rotten in Bureau Co, but it stinks here in Lake / Cook Co just as much.

Funny ILL law states no modified exhaust on motorcycles. .. but yet BLAAAAAAAAAAAA BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA is all I hear..

Now I admit I have a Flowmaster muffler on the Camaro, and happens to be kinda raspy sounding, but not loud. Only thing the shop had that would fit the weird config of the car, without waiting for stock to come in. Very nice heavy constructed muffler btw.

I have nothing against good sounding mufflers that have a good rumble to them.
I bet your Camaro sounds sweet. It is the obnoxious straight pipes, and the continuous
rapping of them that I find totally out of line.

work horn indicators electric start or even the neuutral light. It starts on
the kick but then the electrics work a bit erratically. Took ignition switch
apart yesterday when problem started to cllean any connections. Problem
started after i washed the bike. Is there a fuse on this cicuit perhaps?
havent seen many fuses. Battery is not dead because alarm works fine. Please
