Col, Alan,
The holes are on Aussie models to restrict the available horsepower of
the engine. I think that's why you probably don't know about them.
I don't remember the entire thread but on the KLR650.net forums they
talk(ed) about this issue in the last year or so. Joining that forum and
doing a search might come up with some results. Seems there are more
Aussies on that forum than here.
