I recently bought a bought a new/takeoff shock and a 550lb eshock spring to put on it to replace my flat Progressive 420 shock. I was able to find a coil spring compressor at Autozone that had pretty beefy jaws and I was able to rework the jaws to fit the coil spacing and spring diameter. (I spent about 3 hrs machining for a tool I only used about 10 minutes). With the 550 spring and my bike as it normally sits with PD Nerf bars and partially loaded panniers I got the following sag settings; 1- about 2" sag while on the sidestand. 2- about 1" sag while on the sidestand. 3- just shy of being topped out I can easily lift it to the top. 4- topped out and about 1.5 - 2 inches sag when bike is stood up. 5- about 1" sag when bike is stood up. I haven't had a chance to get better measurements but that is much better than what I had stock. I could never get the recommended 3" sag with me on the bike before, I think I should have it now. Same with my doohickey tools, if someone wants to borrow my spring compressor just let me know. Dan
