Hi, I am a returner to this list...sold my last KLR and moved to a streetbike and a quad.... Now I am back to a KLR and a quad... seems to fit me. I need a kickstand for my 1988 KLR. I have a kickstand for a lowered set of dog legs and the doglegs that go with it. I want to sell those but I need a replacement kickstand. Anyone have a used one that they would let go of..thanks.

Jim,
Welcome back.
If you don't find a side stand here you can probably have it lengthened
for a reasonable price at a local machine shop. Add stuff (2x4, phone
book, etc) under the side stand until you have it at the length you'd
like. Measure how thick the stuff is under the side stand as that's how
much longer you need it. Draw a line along the side stand to act as an
index when the stand is cut. Take it to a shop and ask them to lengthen
it by the amount you figured out. Tell them to keep it indexed so the
foot will sit flat on the ground.
I did this with a guy out here last year and it took less than an hour of
work and that included some lathe time. When we were done you couldn't
tell it wasn't stock.
Best,

Somebody might offer up standard dogbones and kickstand in trade.
Could also always take it off and have an extension welded in it.
Couple of ideas.

I have thought of that, but I have the standard doglegs on the bike and I figured that someone would need the combo of the short legs and the sidestand. I have regular dog legs on my bike...so I just need the stand. Thanks

vendor spam friday - petcock kits

Hi, folks
With Big Cee closed, I've been cleaning out some of my inventory on Ebay.
Right now I've got the last of my petcock kits for sale at $12.95 with
shipping, item #270423038358. I've also got handguard screws, and the
ultimate KLR movie, Cazador Del Serpientes! (Item #270423462999) I
forgot to mention it in the auction, but the petcock kit will fit all
years of KLR, including the '08+ model.
I've also got some other odds and ends which I might post next week. I
really wish Maier hadn't stopped making the Enduro Jugs, as I've got a
bunch of brackets for those...
Thank you, and have a good weekend!
